This Is Us was established in 2020, an era where the global covid pandemic brought forth a seismic change in consumer behaviours and preferences towards food purchases and dining.
The bakery sector experienced a growing curiosity for healthy & preservative-free ingredients, sourdough products, sustainability, convenience, transparency, local production and quality farm-to-table home dining experiences. This gap in the market presented a great opportunity, and for this reason, This is Us was born!
Originally launching with a premium hero sourdough product line featuring 100% Australian Made Sourdough English Muffins and Sourdough Crumpets produced in small batches in the This Is Us Marrickville kitchen, using single-origin flour from Tamworth, with no preservatives, and are naturally leavened.
Since its inception, the brand has diversified its product line to include a number of bakery and pastry items including intricately crafted celebration cakes and most recently the bakery has gone bricks and mortar.
